Here’s the cover of my third Quintus Valerius novel, and the Amazon Kindle buy link is now live, worldwide. For those of you who like to read in print, the paperback version will be out within a fortnight. I’ll send out another note then.

I hope you’re going to like this book. It’s a long road north for my Roman heroes, on the trail of murders and treachery into a strange land. They encounter a dangerous foe, deserted forts, and some brand-new characters. Naturally there are plenty of mystery twists and turns to solve. There were times, I admit, when I couldn’t see how I was going to get all the thorny problems sorted, and manage to rescue Quintus from a desperate lonely plight in Pictland. But he has his trusty gladius; Tiro is plugging away for him; and Julia, clever girl, is busy turning up clues in York…

Enough spoilers! You’ll need to read on to find out more.

In the meantime, an ask from me. Please share the link below, or this newsletter, with other readers who might like the latest Quintus Valerius book. The more visits we get on Amazon, the higher the book’s profile goes early on, and the more the tricky Amazon algorithm works for us to show the book to new readers.

And it would be great to read your comments, especially if you’re Scots. I hope my portrayal of your wonderful country’s ancient history will please you.

Thank you, and do keep reading.
