NEWSFLASH: The Loyal Centurion out today in paperback
The new book has been out on Kindle for ten days now, and already perfectly respectable people have written to tell me they ended up reading till the wee hours, and got caught by the postman in their dressing gown. Another told me she read all three Quintus Valerius books back-to-back. My kind of people: readers with taste and stamina, and an abiding love of short swords.
I know a lot of you have been waiting for the print version; here it is.
Details of the paperback launch of The Loyal Centurion
now available from Amazon at £7.99/$US10.04/$Aus32.98
For those of you who prefer to patronise a bricks-and-mortar book shop, the new book will be stocked in the lovely Malvern Book Cooperative, St Ann’s Road, Great Malvern. Cover price TBA, but it will be modest increment on the Amazon price. I expect the book to be there from next week, along with the previous books in the series, The Governor’s Man and The Carnelian Phoenix.
I’m also making arrangements to have The Loyal Centurion in Worcestershire Libraries. We have plans for author events in libraries in the autumn, too, as well as a later mini-tour of Scotland. More on all that when it’s sorted.
And finally … don’t forget maps and cast lists for all three books are now posted on this blogsite. I’m eternally grateful to artist Chris Fothergill for the maps. Go to the menu tabs along the top, tap on Extras, and voila! (One reader has printed them out to use as bookmarks; good idea.)
Upcoming promotions
The Governor’s Man, the introduction to the series. is Kindle Book of the Month throughout September. This means Aussies and Kiwis can buy the ebook for only $Aus1.49. It’s the first time we’ve done such a deal DownUnder, and it looks like Aussie readers are snapping the book up. Thank you, and enjoy the great price for the rest of September!
On top of that, The Governor’s Man will also be available as a BookBub deal on September 13, again in Australia only. I’m not sure what price yet, but it will be a steal!
Fear not, readers in UK/US; your turn comes in October. From 6 October, for a week, ebooks of both The Carnelian Phoenix (second book in the Quintus Valerius series) and The Loyal Centurion will be at the special price of 99 p/c.
So lots to look forward to. I’ll be back with my usual end-of-month blog after a much-needed holiday. If you want to know what an exhausted novelist does on her back-of-motorbike hols, you can follow our separate travel blog: https://peteandjacmotorbikingineurope.wordpress.com/
Happy reading! And if you enjoy the new book, please let me know by way of ratings/reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. Your comments are welcome here, too.
