6 September 2024 Crime and Coffee at Malvern Library
Author talk and book signings
Another meet up with my friendly fellow crime fiction lovers at the splendid Great Malvern library. I’ll be there at 11.00 am on Friday 6th, to chat about our summer reading, discuss the role of setting in crime fiction, and present my latest Quintus Valerius mysteries, The Loyal Centurion and my exciting new book, The Bath Curse (publication date tba).
Come along for coffee, crime, and chat!
1 June 2024 Castleford Roman Festival
Author talk and book signings
I’m so looking forward to helping this historic West Yorks town (Lagentium) celebrate its important Roman heritage. The festival is a day-long treat for everyone, featuring a busy Roman market laid out in the town centre. There’ll be interactive demonstrations, with everything from woodworking, to blacksmithing weapons, to Roman games, and making your own mosaic Roman soldier. Plus you’ll see Roman centurion walkabouts — you may even find me wandering around Lagentium in my Roman stola and palla. (I’ll be praying to Aestas, the Roman goddess of summer, for nice dry weather!)
The day wraps up with my author talk at Castleford library, 16.00-17.30. I’ll be exploring Castleford’s fascinating Roman history, and how it came to feature in my third Quintus Valerius novel, The Loyal Centurion. And of course there will be short readings from the book, and the chance to buy signed copies of all my Roman mysteries.
Tickets are £5. Here’s the link to book your tickets. I’d love to see you there! Castleford Forum Library & Museum, Carlton St, Castleford, West Yorks.
This free event is part of National Crime Reading Month 2024. I’ve teamed up with fellow crime author Linda Mather, to talk about books that have inspired us, our own writing, and how we develop characters. We’ll be giving readings and signing books too.
